Thinking further, this is exactly what TTS suggested (albeit using compressed air) .

could you not pressurize the oil can to push it round?

My thoughts on this .....

Is the oil filter directional? As i would assume the the SC fluid will feed from the lower hose on the oil can (prevention of oil starvation) which from memory is the hose the oil filter is attached to.

In an ideal scenario to gravity feed the charger with fluid you would feed from the hose that connects to the high point on the oil can so that when the fluid returns to the oil can it doesn't leak out. But if the above is correct the oil filter will stop the fluid returning to the oil can.

Its a doddle to prime a charger if you are lacking a compressor,

Get a tyre valve stem, some duck tape, poke the tyre valve through the duck tape, remove lid off oil reservoir, tape the valve to top of the reservoir and use a car tyre compressor. Pressurise to 2-3psi and that's more than enough to get it around the system. No issues at all doing my KW kit

Honestly you don't need to faff about when filling the supercharger. Follow the instructions and you will be fine.

No major damage will occur during the oil priming procedure. Thinking about it the supercharger will of been assembled with loads of lube that will cope with the initial friction whilst the oil circulates around.

I followed the instructions i had no issues at all and i havent had any problems since fitting it several months ago

Rotrex units dont. Given HKS units are Rotrex units I would trust their experience.

They wouldn't tell you for the fun of it. Not to mention the way I described takes all of 2 mins.

Its a HKS kit with HKS instructions. If you follow the instructions you won't damage the unit or invalidate the warranty.

You could never say for certain that the oil cooler is fully bleed of air during any prep procedure to bleed the supercharger. I think the bleed procedure took maybe a minute once the car was started. Within seconds oil was returning from the supercharger and that's it job done.

Oil level has never changed since. The question I would be more concerned about is whether track days would overheat the oil as the cooler is very small.

HKS haven't used Rotrex units in their kits for many years. The units in the HKS S2000 kits are manufactured in house by HKS Japan.

Well, I had the car mapped at TDI North on Friday. Great job done by the guys. Dyno'd at 381bhp. Very good power delivery and lots of pop's and bangs if you really push it.

As I don't have any gauges, does anyone know of any plug-in's to the ECU that will allow me to use diagnostic software on my phone? I had an OBD reader in the OBD port before, but believe the port is now no longer functional with AEM ECU.

you need to buy the AEM gauges and then get a windows tablet with usb port so it can plug into ECU. AEM tuner software has a customisable gauges window that gives you live readings.
