Sounds like you were spotted by a copper. In this case there will be no photo evidence (possibly no evidence other than his statement, I think there has to be two officers present to do this).

Have a look on www.pepioo.com and see what they say about it. If there was someone else in the car at the time you have an easy escape route as you can just say you can't remember who was driving (no photo to incriminate you).
