HELP! Shifter moves past 5th and 6th
Hi everyone, I've just spent the weekend changing the clutch in my ap1 (first time I've ever done one) and when I finished I took the car out to make sure everything was working fine etc, but when I changed from 4th to 5th the shifter is able to move right over and go past the 5th slot easily making it hard to select gear. I just wonder if anyone knows what I have done wrong or what the problem might be. Thanks in advance

Sounds like the gear stick has been put in incorrectly, allowing it to go into the reverse gear 'gate' without pushing the stick down. Does the stick pull up at all? Would indicate that the spring isn't pushing it up. Does it push down normally when you go into reverse?

You might have put it in 180º out of rotation.
