Default Help required with parts

I require some help with parts for my damaged JDM S2000.

I have been involved in an ongoing saga in buying a car for over six months now. It turns out that the guy I was buying the car off has been lying to me and that he hasn't even finished reepairing the car.

The upshot is that I am taking over the repairs. One of the things that needs doing is replacing the airbags. I have used my chassis number with Honda to get a price which is fairly reasonable but Honda say there is a 4 week delivery time on them. He went onto say that he is almost sure they have UK airbags in stock or can get them but said they are a different part. I asked whether they could cross refernece it against the UK airbags. This they said they couldn't do without a UK chassis number. I can't believe that Honda would make different airbags for the UK and JDM, hell its probably the same airbag has an Accord or something.

Now I know this is really dodgy but is anyone willing to PM me their chassis number so that Honda can cross reference the part. I know there was that horror story on the RX7 site but I am honestly not like that.

Can anyone please help in anyway.

I have been waiting for 7 months to

and I can almost see the light

There are a few guys on here who work for Honda dealers and own a S2000. Have you tried to get the parts through one of them?

How do I find out who they are?

Is it just a matter of using the search facillity and crossing your fingers? Can you suggest what words to search for as I can't think of any?

If they're about, I expect they will reply to the thread in time.

Ian is the service manager for a dealer in Bristol. He has been very helpful to a number of members.

Mutts joined the board recently. https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...&threadid=90209

There was also a salesman from Balmer Green Honda, but I don't know if he has been active recently.

There have been some others. I'm sure if you give it a day or so, others will chip in. I think there were also a few owners who have repaired their cars. They may be able to give you the part numbers directly.

Have you compared your airbag cover with a UK one? If there is a difference, it may only be the style of the H symbol or other graphics on the cover. I imagine that it is only the V-Type that has a different steering wheel.

You could try Jap Parts at Stockton.
They were breaking a couple of S2000's about a couple of weeks ago and it would be a lot cheaper.
They're telehone number is 01642 672255
They also have a web site: www.japparts.com

Best of luck

Hi Ian

I don't know whether you get email PM notification thingmijigs so I thought I'd tell you here.

I sent you a PM on Monday.

If it's not too much to ask, could you also check the price of fitting the Honda Cat 1 alarm for me, unless someone else knows??
