Default Help removing map sensor.

I tried to remove my MAP sensor but the screws were stuck solid and the heads seemed really soft - they got chewed up in seconds.

Any tips for getting them out? My plan was to cut slots in the heads so I can use a flathead screw driver, but is there a better solution?

Also, I assume heating them up isn't an option, other than engine heat, so is it going to be easier if it get the car warmed up before I tackle it?

Any advice welcome.

Cheers,

Hammer a smaller socket on and then use an impact wrench.

Failing that you coukd try a bolt extractor.

Good luck Ian

Mole grips worked a treat without resorting to the socket and hammer method. Can't believe I didn't think of that myself.

Thanks folks.
