Man,

Just sent you a PM

I've read your write up thanks.

Did you need to modify the prop shaft in any way - or was it 'plug and play'?

G'day Folks,

I replaced my broken engine with an 04 engine, had to keep the JDM ECU, and it's never had a problem.

When i got the engine it had a fairly new clutch already fitted to it, and I kept the same gear box the car already had, only thing I had the workshop do was change the gear box fluid.

I got the engine and clutch from a breakers for around

Hi Jel,

Your gearbox should be fine, I would only recommend having the gearbox oil changed.

The guys at Honda tend to over estimate the work, ask to speak to the service manager and the menchinc that would be working on the car, and go through the estimate to work out a more realisc figure, you should find it comes down alot.

If they are not will to do it, find a dealer who is, there are some very helpful and good dealers out there. I'm lucky I have one on my doorstep.

My car was an 00 also

No, I thought it was one of the recent blow-ups.

If it wasn't Ian or Man or ... or ... then I'm stumped.

I'm now wondering if someone might have posted a link into one of those threads from the US site. Changing the ECU would make a lot more sense if the post-04 replacement engine was an F22c!

Andy's passed SVA with an older ECU, so something changed, but obviously it didn't affect the running too much.

Probably best ignore me - too much knowledge is an unreliable thing!
