As much I know about rod knock/bearings......which is nothing.....the videos I have seen of the problem dont seem to match my problem as the noise in my video isnt there anymore....im guessing and only guessing if that was the problem id get the noise all the time?

A spun bearing wouldn't cause the belt to slip off so I'd still keep investigating the pulleys. Get the new belt off and have a manual spin/wobble of the pulleys - they should be almost silent and not have any back/forwards play

hi everyone
me again :/
So I ordered a new idle pulley from the states and fitted it today hoping this would solve my issue.....but you guess it...it didn't
Not sure what to do next.....to me it looks like the belt is coming off the engine crank pulley wrong pic below.

Any other ideas or can anyone in the west sussex area recommend somewhere to take a look at it. Austec is near me are they to be trusted ?
cheers
Ricky.

Well, whip the belt off & see which one isn't turning smoothly.
The alternator or water pump may have seized. Or the clutch collapsed in the A/C compressor.
If the crank pulley is wobbling, check the woodruff key first (collapsing crank pulleys are familiar to Prelude & NSX owners) before prostrating yourself in a wailing & gnashing of teeth. It might not be the crank - in fact, highly unlikely.

Hi Nick
Cheers for the reply
When I took the belt off to replace it, I did have a quick spin of everything and they all felt alright to me...but again im no expert. it seems strange that the belt some times comes off then moves back into place and off again. To me it almost looks like the belts having to twist slightly to line up.

Just had another look at your video again and it looks like the belt is coming off the idler pulley (not the tensioner pulley) all wrong, ie half hanging off

Yeah - is it my imagination or is the idler walking? I thought it was just the camera at first.
All the pulleys must align perfectly, or the belt will walk off.
If it moves axially, then the bearing is shot.
