Ah, so this is the sensor which stops you engauging VTEC when the engine is cold.
That is the ECU that decides that based on the water temp being below 40

Apparently there's a filter behind it too, in between the valve assembly and head...might check this next time I've got the tools out.
The Comptech kit adds another filter in the same location as this is where the oil take off point is.
Here is a pic of one from a B16 :
To give you a clue on size, it's about 2cm x 1cm for the metal part.

Ben, have you any idea if i can replace just the switch i broke? it has a HEX on the other end of it?
Or it is a simply 10min job to replace the whole vtec solenoid unit?
