Default Help with an oil change

Right, following our 'comprehensive' oil debate, i've taken the plunge and bought myself 6l of Castrol TD 5W-40. Next is to buy an OEM filter from Honda.

...Could someone in the NW help me out and do the change for me? (I've not got the ramp, or the tools, and would be too scared to do it myself!!)

You'll be wanting Hypersonik.

Don't really need a ramp though. I just used the jack and reached under. Probably shouldn't if you're doing it safely, mind you. Then you just need a spanner and an oil filter wrench, and something to drain the oil into.

Come to the next NW meet - Ron has previuosly offered to do these in the car park, we could all have a watch! Next one is a drive on 2nd of august, there a place out of the way at the start point where he could do it.

....you'd have to ask him of course!

Now that is very lazy!!! You only need to jack up the front drivers side to gain access to the sump nut and put a drip tray underneath, surely you can do that???? I would say it harder to change a wheel.....

Definately not harder to change a wheel! The filter is fairly hard to get at and has to be put on pretty tight. Some people arn't confident or haven't got the tools. Its easier to do anything once your shown how. I and presumably a lot of others are lucky in that they are just generally quite practical - either by learning similar things at work or just by chance or they have been shown how to do something.

I dont think thats lazy some folk are simply not that inclined or have no experience, or want to learn off others.

Just make sure it is genuine OEM and tightened properly!

Thanks guys, it's not that i'm lazy, but that i haven't got the tools (i.e. the filter wrench), and i'd heard that, for the unexperienced, the filter can be a bit of a b*!ger to get on properly.
Once someone has shown me how to do something like this, I'll be able to do it myself next time!

Ta!
