Default Help needed. Removal of my ECU

Chaps,
I'm in Maidenhead, willing to travel a fair bit for this.

I need a hand ( OK i need someone to so this for me who knows what they are doing ) in removing my ECU

I take a few photo's of it

You put the ECU back in... and we start my car.... and it runs properly.
I hand you over a few beer tokens... and we chew the fat

Anyone able to lend me hand?

Thanks
Gaspode

Its quite simple really.

I think with the later cars you need a special headed tool though to remove the holding bolts. Tink there HEX or something, PM mikeyK

In my my00 which wont be different.

Goto passenger footwell, there is a section to the upper left the ECU is located there.

It goes along the lines of:

*First remove the kick plate by gently prying on each side, that comes off. - its one section the whole plastic.

*Pull back window rubber at end near the A pillar, at the side near the door hinge remove white plug that attached the the platic cover mentioned above, remove other end from exposed chasis under kickplate.

* Towards the back of the footwell its held in gently pry that and the whole T shaped plastic section should come off exposing the ECU, you my need to pull back on the carpet.

* Remove the two bolts, gently release the tabs on all 3 ECU plugs then plug out each straight not at an angle.

ECU Plugs (2 grey 1 blue IIRC) are at the back towards the end of the footwell (far right on the pic you can't see them though in the pic)

Gaspode, you need to get a key from honda to release the ECU bolts they have a triangular head on them, TGM can arrange also but they do not have a key onsite, why are you removing it, i assume you know that no other ECU except perhaps Hondadata will work in your car...........

Stivi
Just need to get some photo's of ECU.
I know other ECU's won't work in a DBW car.

Sounds like a trip to Honda is on the cards.

Somebody manufactured a key on here to be used by members of the forum.
It may have been Lower, but I couldn't be 100% on this.

As said, PM Mikey, he will know.
