I don't think the guy thought she was gonna go so soon i but feel like he knew the engine was going in that direction. Like maybe it was bruning alot more oil than used to which motivated he's decision to sell.
You won't get an AP2 engine second hand here (they are all AP1), as the AP2 was only sold int he US and Japan.

Just avoid anything from a 2008 or 2009 car.

Ahh thanks dude, I meant the f20c2. It ap2 lol.. I’m under the impression the f20c2 will want be a straight swap, will need some modifications?

I found a 2006 engine for good money but someone said will require changing some parts and would be better off getting the f20c?

Thanks

Quite simply a second has engine is the only option for your requirements.

if you go down some crazy turbo route you will be posting again in the future with a similar story when engine two goes pop.

Get a replacement 04/05 if can. Get someone like Daytona to fit. Get the map checked by Romain or one of the people off the board.

Then double check the whole build and invest in what is needed for a “reliable” SC’ed S2000 track car! like the following... oil cooler, catch can, retainers, possibly meth & monitoring equipment so you can keep an eye on things... water, oil, AFR etc

This is sound advice, honest.

2006 and newer cars use dbw so no cable throttle and a few different sensors.
You will need to swap intake manifold from your old engine, valve cover with cam sensors and trigger wheels, also crank sensor with trigger wheel needs to be swapped over.
I would go for the best priced and best condition engine and just deal with what needs to be done, the above things are not that hard to do especially when engine already is out.

As above, you'd have to swap some of the temp sensors, cam/crank sensors, throttle and the crank and cam trigger wheels if you use the later engine (and whilst you're in there, may as well check the thrust bearings too).

hi fellas,

update:

bought a low mileage s2k with built engine and turbo setup, going to drop it into my shell.

Can anyone recommend some where to get engine swapped and tuned in England please? Based in Birmingham but willing to travel.

Thanks guys

Have a talk with Ray at Daytona in Congleton or with Dan at Honda HQ in Cannock both will be up to the job at swapping the engine over but might have to look elsewhere for the tuning,

Depends on your EMS there are a few tuners in the uk i would trust or there is remote tuning by a few guys on this forum
