Default help! my heated rear screen has stopped working!

Hi guys, need some help, i've been trying to retro fit a facelift centre console to my car, the tricky bit is the heated rear screen button as it's wired differently to MY00 car. It was all working fine with the MY00 wiring, but i disconnected the switch and have been trying to get the facelift switch to work (without any luck), i could hear the relay click a few times when figuring it out, but then it stopped, so i reconnected the original switch and now it doesnt work! help! the switch still lights up when i put my sidelights on, but it doesnt function to turn the HRW on.

Any ideas? I've tried searching but havent found anything useful. Is it possible the relay has broke? I've looked in the manual but can't find anything about the fuses that power the HRW

HELP!!

Have you tried a different relay? What about lifting the centre console and checking that the switch is properly plugged in.

I'd be out with a multimeter checking the switch, the contacts, power at the screen end of the wire - you need to work out where the break is ... my suggestion is the relay. Have you tried removing it and giving it a good sharp tap with your hand?

Put everything back exactly how it was before you started and check again.

If it still doesn't work, check all fuses in both fuse boxes individually. (You never know but work methodically).

If they all appear good, check your connections in the connectors themselves. After that, check relays.

The key with electrics is to be methodical and check every step.

Havent took the relay out, but what good would tapping it do? There wont be any breaks in the wires anywhere else as i havent touched anything. All i've done is mess with the switch trying to retro fit a facelift switch

GaryB

everything IS exactly how i started, just now the HRW doesn't come on
