Default HELP: My Battery Keeps going flat

If anyone can help I would be very grateful. I have had a flat battery every day this week and wanted to chase down the problem.

I am showing 14.3 volts on tick-over and 12.8 when I switch off. In about 2 hours this has dropped to 12 volts and by the moring it sits at about 10 volts.

I have pulled fuses and have found that the car (ignition off) pulls about 0.03 amps at the battery - no one circuit is pulling enough to give a reading. My car hifi was pulling 0.07 amps (ignition off) so I've had to pull the capacitor fuse out which puts me at 0.01 amps on the hifi and a total drain of 0.04 amps at the battery

Questions:
14.3 volts at tick-over on the battery - sounds OK but feedback appreciated (nothing in Honda shop manual)

0.04 amps drain at the battery with the ignition off - again sounds OK but would appreciate feedback

If these figures all stack up with any replies it seems to point to a failed battery. Anyone claimed one of these under warranty?

Anyone who can send me their data would be much appreciated.

Thankyou!!!!

I did after a total battery failure.
The dealers were no problem with getting me a new battery under warranty.
The A.A. however did manage to damage my car during their diagnosis to such an extent that the wing needed to be resprayed but that's another story.

I'd give the dealer a call as either the car or battery are faulty.

It sounds like the scene from Apollo 13...."what does that give us if we disconnect the power to the LIM module hank?"

Ditto, under warranty, Honda accepted the AA man's report without question.

14V from the alternator is fine - should charge the battery perfectly.

Provided you drive your car every couple of weeks or so, there shouldn't be a problem - which points to the battery.

Sounds like the battery can't hold a charge - faulty battery I'd say.

Do you have a neighbour or friend you could borrow a battery from to test with (if you want to come up to Marlborough I can lend you a red top racing battery)?

How about taking the battery out over night. If the voltage has dropped again by morning....faulty battery

Thanks for the feedback - I've just come back from (GULP) Fleet Honda and they checked the battery and fitted a new one under warranty - it was a faulty battery. Car feels happier now as well.
Good to know you get a new battery after 18 months usage - an impressive warranty!
