Help - key fob doesn't work
Just parked my car and the alarm wont set so I have had to manually lock it. What happens when i go to start it if I cant use the fob to unlock the alarm (providing its on). How am I going to start my car? Any advice?
If not I have another fob at home and will have to go get that
cheers

The fob can be powerful enough to unlock the car, but not disarm the immobiliser if the fob battery is low (I found this to my cost on my '02).
On that basis there seem to be too separate signals being sent, so if your fob is not strong enough to open the doors, I doubt you will be able to diarm the immobiliser - new fob battery or spare keys needed I think.

It's an unusual battery - I couldn't get one at Maplins either. Had to order on line.
If it's 9 volt (or is it 12 ) , I suppose you could hook up some wires from a PP9 to the terminals in an emergency.

I always take a spare key with me whane I am driving more than a taxi ride from home. Also keep a spare in the car (you'll need a mimi screwdriver in the car too for the 02/03).
I got mine from Battery-Shed IIRC on-line - very good, quick service. There is more than one name for the battery I think, which may add to the confusion. David, remind me to bring along some spare at the next meet as they don't fit the 04/05 fob.
