Default Help identifying a leak

I've had the car just over a week now and loving it.

A fellow S2ki member called round last night for a nosey and while we had the bonnets open he showed me a leak or soak on part of his engine. We looked at mine and it's there too.

I'll have to take a photo when I get home from work, but was hoping that someone might be able to help now if it's a common thing, so I've found a pic off the net and marked where it is

It doesn't seem to drip or else I'd have thought I'd have noticed something on the garage floor before now.

I checked the oil levels a few days ago and it was fine, but maybe should check again.

Sorry, still learning about engines so not sure all the right terminology yet

Have you checked all around your rocker cover for any leakage? It's not uncommon for leaks to track down and appear elsewhere, other than that I assume the TCT plug (bottom left of red outline) is not leaking? If it is, a little thread seal and a new washer (same as sump I think) would sort that.

Thanks Chris.

Will look when I get home.

I should add that both cars are MY08s. Not sure if this is common or not.

Would hope not on a newer car, can also get soaks from spilling on oil fill up (I though I had a leak but turned out to be some residual oil from a rushed top up migrating!), clean it up and see if it reappears.

Well I've got home and took some photos. Any ideas?

The one thing I do notice is that the oil level is over max when I checked it. It was serviced just before I collected it. Have they overfilled it?

checked it not running round from the TCT?
i changed my O-rings on a '00my because of a weap of oil, and it turned out to be hardened O-rings.

on a 2008, i'd be sceptical, but maybe it's been out for some reason and the orings havent been replaced/been damaged?

TCT is inline with the allen-key plug in some of your pictures; a yellow paint mark at 12 o'clock, just above oil filter.

all 3 o-rings are about £10 from honda.
