CAP will be able help. or find a friendly dealer to photocopy a page of his book?

there are one or two dealers lurking on here i think, maybe they can assist?

insurance companies always low ball their first offer, if you turn it down, provide evidence then they will cough up in the end as every interaction with you costs

you're not a trader I assume

so that figure is irrelevant

you need private and forecourt valuations

but bear in mind hardly anyone gets an asking price

yup exactly. trader price is no good to me.

i want whats fair, which is the market value of my car, as they said they would insure it for.

IMO, market value to me means what i as a private individual can reasonably buy a replacement of the same condition for.

they seem to be able to sccrew people - im not having it!

they are legally obliged to pay you market value, it's just a case of proving what that is, obviously there's a deal of difference between forecourt and private prices

CAPs values are based on trade sales, auctions (ie trade purchases) etc

is there nothing on fleabay in terms of old books?

ok....ebay only goes back to october, piston heads similar. i got one car from s2kuk - https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showt...&#entry14111674, its similar to mine in age and import but lower mileage and tweaked a lot more than mine.

parkers have a tool though - it tells you what your car was worth at a point in time - it costs a fiver for 1 days access but whatever!

....apparantly mine from a delaler was worth 7.5k in august.

only prob is that it s for a UK spec car, not an import, but it is for 90k miles and mine had only 70k on it, so they probably cancel out....

anyways, clearly more than the
