This is what it looks like inside the cat.
I took the cat off mine yesterday, took about an hour in all to do it and using the Mechanical O2 Simulator tip.

Any noticible performance improvement from decating ?
What it has done has made it sound better what was the reason for fitting it now, I'm still waiting for parts to make the most of it on the performance front.

Still no joy with the car I'm afraid.
Had the cat removed last night and fitted a straight pipe-
Sounds like it is still on stealth mode.
The garage tested the cat and the Amuse with compressed air and felt they
were both letting air through normally, no blockage that would be significant.
The honeycomb in the cat also looked undamaged.
They said if the Amuse had been damaged, we'd likely hear a rattle noise.
I suppose being 99.9% sure the Amuse is ok makes be feel a bit better.
This is all getting very strange.
I'm going with the next plan which is to reset the ECU.
I just don't see how it can be so quiet if nothing mechanical is knackered!
(and please - no more "your deaf" comments)
If all else fails, I'm going to play about with different exhaust/ manifold
combinations as I kept all the original bits and will see if it goes back to normal.
Someone mentioned the ECU may not be compatible with the 4:1 manifold -
hopefully I have an answer really soon.
