I have a black 02, if your anywhere near Bedfordshire I'll take you for a ride always up for an excuse to go out at the minute and I know dealers often look funny at youngish guys who want a test drive in anything remotely interesting (first hand experience of this a few years ago.. I did turn up in an old vectra SRI mind so that probably didn't help )

Either way good luck, really pleased with my S

The best quote I've had today for my MR2 is £945 fully comp unlimited miles and it was with Adrian Flux. They even managed to beat Admiral. The guy on the phone was listing all the benefits of being with AF before he told me the price so I was expecting some horror quote! I'm 22 with 3 years ncb. I was so pleased I forgot to ask about an S2000 so I'll need to ring them back.

Sadly I'm near Blackpool so nowhere near you . Thanks for the offer though!

Wow I thought I was at the limit! Have you modified the seat at all?

I just spoke to Adrian Flux and an S2000 would be 'over £3000 a year' so they can jog on. Admiral said £2067 so I'll probably go with them even though they're £40 more expensive this time.

Nope

Wouldn't mind trying a lowered seat however...just to see what the improvement would be like.

I honestly cant believe someone would pay £2k for insurance regardless of how much they like the car...

Think about what you can do for 2k lol!

If I was you I'd save some money on insurance and get something quicker (mx5 with a bolt on turbo would be less expensive).

The day I pay over £1k-£1.5k is the day I'll get shot of the car...

Hey Ross

I'm 23 and have had my s for 5 months, had to pay £240 a month for 4 months with admiral so that I could get my 4th year no claims, I rang admiral the other day to talk about renewal and they said it was gonna be £2700!!!! For 10 months but they got it down to £2200 which I'm still not happy with. Lol. So I need to ring around and get more quotes.

But £2067 from admiral isn't bad considering your a year younger with 1 year less no claims.

Have you put parents or family members on your policy? As long as they have clean licences and no points it usually brings the quote down.

I'm a little older at 30 years of age, and I suggest you try sky insurance. I got quoted £700 with 10 years ncb and 12k mileage.

Also I'm 6' 2" and also have no problem fitting in and being comfortable. Just make sure the radio door is closed, it can hit your knee if left open! ;-)

Some people do though! 2 of the guys at work who had just passed their tests (both were 19 at the time) have paid some ridiculous prices just to get rolling! One guy is paying 2k on a 1.0 52 plate Corsa and the other is paying 3k on a 1.3 mk4 Fiesta... that he paid £800 for... and even that was about £300 too much imho..

Anyways, i've ended up paying £650 (29yo, 9 years ncb)through Admiral for my MY02 S, cheapest i could find anywhere, and i phoned them all, lol!

Top choice on username btw

Postcode matters, lot's.

Flux insured me at 23 for ~£650. At 25 (now) Flux insure me for £470.

I am in Jersey which seems to make a huge difference but £3000 seems far too much, I guess they just don't want your business on that car so are quoting themselves out of contention. Not sure if Jersey has wildly different statistics in play but at a guess there are probably a dozen on the island so they are not in crashes often here
