Default Hello!

Hi,

This is my first post on here.

I may be in the market for an early S2000.

I already have an 05 CTR and VX.... The VX may be going.

I have also had an Elise... I am therefore an active member of the MLOC [midlands lotus owners club] VX220.org, and the CTR + CTRO forums.

Im also buying a 205 GTI for track days.

I have been searching through the board and it seems very informative!

Just wanted to really say hello, and what to look out for on the earlier 01/02 S's....

...... If they are anything like my CTR is then they should be bullet proof!

Thanks,

Chris.

Your place must be like a garage forecourt son.

Plenty of info available on here, and when you are ready to buy there is always a selection of owner's vehicles on the market.

Keep your eyes peeled!

Nice collection of cars

Have a look at the FAQ and the official for sale list for some owners cars here:

Your VX220's been spoken about on here before mate.

What do you want an S2000 for?

If it's a practical sports car to keep standard then it'll be fine. I see from the VX you have that you like modifying cars, and if you intend to do this with the S2K (with a view to seeking more power) you may be disappointed. The engine is so highly tuned by default that significant power hikes usually need to come in the form of a turbo or supercharger.

Hi Chris

I've just traded up to a new S2000 from my CTR.

I've owned a 2000 S2000 before my CTR's and they are bullet proof, one thing to watch on the earlier models is the rattling clutch problem, this was normally carried out via warranty but was never a recall so there maybe ones out there still with old clutches.

Other than that they are a great buy secondhand.

Interesting!!!??? Any links????

I cant go into details but I might not have a VX anymore.... Even though my VX has had every penny spent on it since Xmas.

I have always wanted an S, I had a CTR because of the mental engine. I use it daily and it never fails to make me smile!!!!

My Spoon N1 + Monmouth tunnels sounds like no other car!!!! Even though the VX has a custom exhaust and intake it doesnt give that aural pleasure that the CTR does!

Also even though the S might not give me the performance hike from the VX, the engines power delivery is something that I hanker for.

I can always sort out a few things with the S to make it more focused, so first on the list will be decent rubber, brakes, coilovers, and a Spoon N1. [handling is the first thing I mod]
