Out of interest, why 5mm ali sheet. Seems a bit heavy? WRC sumpguards aren't a massive amount thicker than that...

I'm guessing that any less than 5mm it will flex to much??

This, a splitter won't work unless it can withstand some pretty heavy loads. My ex-FiL (ex-Lola, he designed and built competition cars for a living, including a Le Mans car and a F1 car in the 1970s) once told me that a splitter should be able to hold the weight of a person standing on it to work effectively.

Absolutely. And anyone who's seen what they've done to the kerbs at pretty much every UK circuit recently will see another reason why this is essential. With all this said, I can 100% confirm our splitter is totally upto this. The fab guy and I could both stand on it and pretty much jump up and down without any movement at all....
