Strange, it's not unusual to occasionally fit a passenger seat to a competition car but I've never heard of it being compulsory before .

Any idea why?

I take it you've never heard of the phrase "because race car" before? ( http://becauseracecar.org/ - or put the phrase in google images )

I've been wondering it for years as well, no-one I know can give a good answer to it yet.. sorry I can't be any use d:
