HEL Performance 2012 Time Attack Build
#61
Well, the shell went off today to Nickson Motorsport in Surrey to have the seam welding and roll cage work done.
What to do in the meantime? We got hold of front and rear subframes, and a steering column and rack to work on. Both frames will be seam welded for extra rigidity and strength, and then dipped and re-painted.
Looked at doing both subframes in T45 tubular, but given the amount of work it would take to do this on subframes of this size and complexity we'll stick with the original frames for now and maybe look at this further down the line.

What are your plans for the brakes?
Calipers will most likely be AP Racing, 6 pot fronts and 4 pot rears. Thats a little overkill for the car and power, but I'd rather have too much than not enough in that department.
And we always use Castrol SRF fluid, best fluid on the market IMO.

Nice
I agree with your approach. I'm running a Hi Spec kit
4 pot calipers with a 335mm 2-piece slotted disc, Ds2500s. They are great on the road and held up well at Rockingham
Good luck with the build

^^ Looking good.
I m really interested to see what you are doing with the wishbones as the standard items are heavy and really soft.

Those brakelines look fantastic! How much would a kit with titanium fittings set you back? And what are the advantages over running these fittings instead of stainless?
Had some normal stainless steel HEL ones fitted to my old EP3 and were great
