Engine is finished, just waiting to talk to Richard @ TTS on plans from here on in. Either we'll fit the engine/gearbox here and send back upto TTS for the supercharger conversion, or he'll fit and keep the car to to the conversion. Whilst thats going on we've measured up and ordered a few bits like a box in the centre of the car where the OEM fuel tank used to fit, which will house the battery and the fire extinguisher. Also plotted out and got all the bits now to do the airjack hoses, and also the same for the brake line system.

Also now have the first OEM replacement rear screen for the hardtop in lexan (polycarbonate). Will post up some pics and pricing on that again very soon. To go with that we also have some lexan door windows with sliders to go in, and the rear spoiler brackets and mounts being machined to take some weight out the metal.

Lots to do and not alot of time to do it here at the moment, good job its not due to go out to race for a while yet

progress sounds good so far

what charger will they be fitting? my friend aims has a road going s2k with a tts system that they just mapped at 443 at the wheels on a stock motor so yours should be an animal, what sort of power will you be looking at running?

SHE (aims) has a 2000 jdm s2k running a tts supercharger with front mount int, 1000cc injectors, uprated fuel pump, hondata managment. i will message her to work out what boost it is running but i know v-tec was lowered to 3.5k rpm and stock rev limit on a safe map was 443 at the wheels, they said it would be good for 450 running a bit more of a risky map

Going FI removes the need for bigger valves and porting as the charge is pushed in under pressure, if you were pushing for big top end then maybe it would help , also not sure if you could get bigger valves in the confines of the head design
as i read it they are saying the better material properties are suited to FI,
"made from premium grade, heat resistant stainless steel material to insure reliability with high boost and/or high rpm applications"
the rest of it does not say anything about FI just that they aid charge flow
dont get me wrong bigger valves are not usually a bad thing but i would say there is better ways to spend the money in this case

S2000 shown some daylight for the first time......(and yes, the rear wheel alignment hasnt been done yet or all the red stickering, so the current look is a little wierd )

Some trick hosework......we MAY use the car for racing and some drift demos, so we have designed a dry-break system so the hydaulic handbrake can be removed and replaced with a ball valve for race work which will act as a simple handbrake in the pit garage by locking the rear wheels up.

Work in progress...

Nice.

Random question, the boot support brackets that you have drilled holes in, any idea how much weight is lost from those two parts?

Boot support brackets?...Probably literally grammes but we did go through a stage in the chassis prep where we were looking for every possible outlet for loosing some weight, no matter how little. In retrospect, it'd be more beneficial to get rid of them altogther and stick some more aerocatches on, but having done that last year with the Evo in TA, it just ended up knackering the corners of the boot taking it off every time the car came in and left it prone to people standing on it in the garage, so this was a safer and easier option of keeping the boot intact. And it works well with our DTM esque rear spoiler set up (yet to go on)...

Wooo hooo - Engine is 100% ready to come to us now, so its being delivered next Tuesday to HEL. We'll then marry it up with the carbon twin plate Exedy and Quaife sequential and get it in the car. Then for a few other engine bits before it goes off for wiring. Then back to TTS for the supercharger conversion. THEN the fun will begin!

Had it out again today doing the brake line system, how nice it was to have airjacks to raise the car up to work on -
