Such bad luck.

I cant wait to see what happens when you get a problem free weekend. Hopefully that'll be soon.

Do you have any thoughts on accsumps? Ive heard of them and see the btcc cars use them and notice exige cups come with them. Know if they are any good as a poor mans dry sump alternative?

I'm really impressed by how light heartedly HEL have taken this. I'd be soo upset!

Glad the damage is minimal, really sad to see another dnf style day for you guys.

Still can't wait to see the footage!!!

Bad luck, but all part of pushing the boundaries / development I guess!

Glad it wasn't too bad. When mine caught fire it was the loom which was the most of a PITA!

Thought it would have survived this sort of bhp, but I think most of the people running 600 plus bhp don't tend to put their foot down this much

So what's the plan now. What has the engine builder said?

You going to do anything different next/this time?

Engine will be pulled apart and analysed this week as will the ECU logs to see what happened. Snetterton is pretty savage for oil surge so that's our initial thoughts. If it is that then it'll mean dry sumping to safeguard it happening again.

Then we have a decision to make about Tyres as it opens up the opportunity to run slicks and continue with the aero package we plan to put on the car

I don't think there is much to think about!

Dry sump

I know most kit car builders like to convert the oil system as these engine are considered very tall. What are the options when it comes to building it like that? Are there off the shelf parts available?

Yes looking at the DMRR and RED kits available as we speak. The TODA one is just stupidly priced! We could fully CAD design, make and test our own kit for less than the £15k RRP on that kit!

New engine sourced this morning from an 05' plate 36,000 mile car. It's already been delivered to Tracktive! Just need to get the old one apart now and find out exactly what caused it. But either way the dry sump might as well go on now, just means we might have to change the s/charger set up, as the oil pump will be in the same place the charger is!

Keep us posted, Ben. I may be going slicks and dry sump if I dabble in Britcar next year! Think i'd need that fancy box of yours too

Hats off for getting back on the horse so quick.

When's the next one?

The box is just awesome now with the flatshift added.....

Next round is 20th July.

Looking towards getting a built short block from the USA if possible, that'll save time sending a block off here for the sleeves/liners to be done...
