If you had the heater set to 'top down', it blows warm air out at knee level from above the radio cover, so this might have been warming the passenger seat up?!

Being a bit myself I would like to fit them but would cock it up and end up in an expensive mess. So I leave the HT on 'til it warms up a bit.
