Default Heads up for owners of Goodyear F1 GS-D3's

Heads up!

Had a quick chat with the techies at Goodyear on the merits of F1 Asymetric v's GS-D3's

The chappie on the end of the phone advised that they aren't making the GS-D3's in the S2000 17in size any more.

So... if that is your tyre of choice... watch it start getting scarce.

I think the day they stop BS re050's the day I'll have to upgrade to 17's.

I was going to try F1's too.

Why bother with GSD3's when Asymmetrics are superior?

I love Eagle F1s - probably the best do everything tyre you can get.

The Asymmetric looks like it is upholding a fine tradition

Glad I'm not the only one thinking that

I also noticed recently on the Camskill website that the BS RE050MZ are available in reas 17" (no surprise here), but the fronts are available in RE050AMZ form. Didn't realise they'd started doing the 'A' in MZ compound. Maybe it's time for me to return to BS from GSD3s! I wouldn't have thought having normal MZs on the rear and AMZs on the front would upset things too much would it?

I like them because, to me, they are a known quantity.

I found them to be a very good compromise between the F1 GS-D2s, which were excellent in the wet but not so good in the dry, and the S02s that were good in the dry but lethal on anything else.

The AVS sports are the best tyre I have tried on the S but sadly they no longer make these in the right sizes either

Sometime this year I will have to decide whether to go for the AVS Sports replacement or for the Asymmetrics ...... or try something completely different
