Headlight washer MY04
#13
I've had headlights reduced to a glimmer on motorway journeys due to salty/gritty spray on previous cars, after all if your windscreen gets dirty surely the lights will get as bad especially when they are on and the lens gets hot.
Isn't it a requirement to have headlight washers on a car fitted with HID lights, therefore if disconnected would fail an mot.?

From the FAQ.
Open up the bonnet. Look up by the windscreen on the passenger side; there's a black box about 6" x 3" with its top just below the level of the wing, between the battery and the wing.
Squeeze the ends of the box to free the clips and lift off the top. In the box, towards the front, is a 20 amp and a 30 amp fuse
Pull the 30 amp fuse out and store it in the empty space at the opposite end of the box.

Yeh, think it was a 30A one, quite big for a washer pump I thought as well but then that might explain why they're so powerful
I can't see how people hit the button accidently though, it's not in the way of normal usage, but the fact that they came on every time you want to spray the windscreen is a bit odd...

Think you're switch is in a different location then mine
MY04 switch is behind the wiper stalk on the dash, where you'd get nowhere near when changing gear

it's an annoyingly placed button, but I've kept mine for the simple fact it's GREAT for tailgaters.

It's not even a requirement that they work for the MOT
