Default Headlight adjusting sensor -

Hi,

Took the car to the dealers because of an odd knocking/clicking noise from the passenger side rear wheel area when moving.

They diagnosed it as needing a new headlight adjusting sensor which is a sealed unit, part number 33146 S2A G01 [could be 901].

Anyway they said the part was

It sounds like the auto headlight levelling sensor; 33146-S2A-G01 is the correct part number and the cost is correct at about

I've just had a similar problem - I'd try greasing the linkage up first. I think the ball joints have a tendency to dry out and sieze. A dealer will obviously not want to do this as it might come back and also there's work in it for them. However - it's quick to do yourself and might get you by.

The headlight leveller can have a tendency to sieze as it did on mine. Mine made a moise that sounded like an old rusting pram, in that everytime I pulled away or braked there was a very loud squeeck.
I would just suggest removing the wheel and check for a siezed ball joint on the arm that connects between the leveller and the lower wishbone. Then just clean and apply some grease.

Does anyone have a picture of the level adjuster as this part number doesn't seem to be right?
