Oh and I didn't say S-02s make you fall off the road just that there are better tyres out there for the wet roads.

Anyway what do I know I've never even tried S-02s

What is the difference between the RE050 and the RE050 A

Also a lot of the teg boys seem to like the RE010
The A stands for Asymmetric... Asymmetric stands for something....

RE050As? Yeah I am please with them, they are a bit more progressive than the S02s, and obviously a lot better in the wet... but the S02s were more fun man!

I need some Toyo R888s!

A is assymetric. In theory the outsides of the tyre are better for the dry, and the insides are better for the wet.

For 16s, it seems RE050As are the only Bridgestone tyres in the right sizes (other than Porsche special ones) available in the UK.

I have RE50's, not alot better in the dry maybe marginal.

However they are better in the wet, it seems alot of users agree on this point including myself whilst comparing to S02's.

RE010 was ITR-oriented if my memory is correct. Not sure if available in any other sizes.

Similar to the S2000-specific S02 in many ways (very stiff sidewalls, excellent in the dry, a little compromised in the wet) but slightly different reasons:-
S02 - too narrow channels for standing water and takes a little while to warm up, but once warm fine in the wet except for standing water.
RE010 - decent channels but compound not the grippiest in the wet...many owners went to generic S02's (broader channels) in winter.

Don't forget S02s were discontinued some time ago so any "new" tyres you get will be old stock.

I've no idea how long it takes for the compound to degrade or to what degree, though.
