Your oil, especially some of the newer cars (that were holding me up ).

some lovely burnt oil smells following on 3rd / 4th gear VTEC sweepers, from the 02 brigade especially.

No the smell was a mixture of molten rubber, excessive neck movements (that'll be emenem) and scary moments.

Sorry to have held you up so much

I've now got 1624 miles on the clock the weekend put about 470 miles on. I've used about 100ml of oil in total. I think I've wiped that of the dip stick I've used a lot of fuel though, anybody know what the drag factor of a Monkey is?

This whole oil burning thing is quite interesting, as I've *never* had to top-up in the whole 10500 miles.
CHIPPO also noted how clean the exhaust pipes were on mine, after the Sunday drive compared to others - I guess some engines just don't burn oil

Gotta feel sorry for those in slower coloured cars

My engine burns virtually no oil these days (8,000 miles)

Ah, that explains your driving .

As one owner who used to burn a lot of oil (probably 2+ litres in the first 10,000 miles, I check after these sort of events, track-days etc, as big VTEC-ing can make a difference! I had a MOBIL1 oil & honda filter change before I left Newcastle, happy to report no need to refill when I got back 650 miles later.

For non-burners from new , the consensus on the US site was to feel very sorry for you as you won't be making as much power as a nicely loosened up engine, HaHa
