Default Have i missed the boat

Hello,

Now that Comptech have gone out of business is it still possible to get the kits anywhere? (old stock etc)

I humm'd and haaa'd when the group buy was taking place and i really regret it now. (esp reading about bibbs racing with GT3s)

I know there is the Vortech S/C but i like the comforting fact that a number of you seem to have had a relatively trouble free experince with the Comptech.

I think Comptech's website lists all their dealers who have stock.

Either that or keep and eye out of the for sale for a low mileage 2nd hand unit.

Comptech was easy, there are a few bits I don't like (like the sump oil return) but it works fine.

Buy one of the SC boys a RHD turbo kit, and i'm sure they'll swap

Vortech is fine too, and gives more power out the box.

Arsie has one fitted.

I had one fitted, never ran it.

Dan do you attribute your engine failing to the Vortech kit or the tunning or the TODA kit ?

Mark, what worries me is that if you (someone with infinitely more car knowledge that me) doesn't getting running, i never could!

I can't rememer Marks issues, but I think the Vortech is just a little harder as you need to tap the sump for the oil return.

I got mine running over a long weekend, would have been a LOT less if I knew what I was doing, had done a little preperation and wouldn't have watched so much day-time TV.

No it definitely wasn't the vortech I am not sure why the engine falled but I think the Toda stroker kit couldn't handle 9000rpm.

I think the only real difference is stock the vortech is aftercooled and has more power.

Bibbs are you running the vortech? just I have a 13.5psi pulley and belt if you want!

Ok i have found a chap with the S/C still on a car, $4500 (inclduing a comptech header i mean manifold )

Should i worry that it wouldn't be complete since it will have to be taken of another car?

Apparently there are only 6k miles on it, are these things sensitive to mileage?

when is mase back ? (what am i starting...)

Mase is back end of summer I believe ..

Will you go straight to AEM etc?

Bits that may go missing are the fuel pump, and maybe the FPR (which I've got a spare, as I'm back to stock).
