have i made a mistake?
I'm a newbie, if that is what you call them and I have just recently bought a used s2000 that i had been teasing myself about for a while about getting one and had bought one in a rush on my first day back in the UK (promptly spun the thing on the A64 six hours after picking it up (luckly didn't cause any damage and probably learn a few of the lessons about wet driving posted in the threads very quickly).
Anyway aside from that I bought it because it not only is it the most fun thing i have ever driven, but after reading a few of the threads about either people keeping them off the roads in the winter and a lot of the fiddly little things about oil, petrol and problems. My question is, will this car be a major problem to run as an only car?

Lots of the posters here run S2000s as their only car, me included.
Unless you have a lot of luggage to carry, or need to drive across fields in winter, you'll be fine.

NO!!!!
I think it's at its very best as an only car (unless you need to cart stuff around )
Cheshire Carper violently disagrees (as a matter of policy ) - but some of my best drives have been on 'un-suitable' roads (wet, cold, snow, ice etc. etc. )
Euan seems to take particular pride in driving his in the worst possible conditions.
The more you drive it, the easier it is to regularly check oil, tyres etc.

Mine is a single car on an 80-mile a day commute. Only had it 3 months - but love it and not had a problem with any aspect of it as an everyday car. Sure you have to slow down in the wet (big shock to me that one, coming from a Scooby), but that saves fuel

Nope! The S is my only car and I use it for everything, even carting around a lawnmower. I got mine back in March and have driven it in all weather conditions except snow and ice without any problems.
