Has there been a pile up on the M25?
I joined the M25 south / east / anti from Reigate tonight and a mile or so later came face to face with an aluminium step ladder approx 10 foot long laying across the dotted line between the middle and the fast lane!!! moved out of the way to miss it and seeing a bike coming up behind me I put on my hazzards praying big time he was concentrating. Luckily he was and he tucked in behind me.
Flippin heck!!!
Can only hope others spotted it as.. well.. I wouldnt want to imagine what would have happened..

On a similar note, I was on the M40 at the weekend, just b4 the M25 turnoff, coming south, and some pikey pick up type truck was in front a few cars. A big cushion off a Sofa came flying off. the bloke in front of me, and I dodged it , but the volvo behind me hit it, and pulverised the cushion!
