evan2 - sounds like you could get some cheap stuff in from the US then
S2000_UK - Where was the plug socket/cover? Just by the base of the roll bar? If so that is HT ready. With the hood down look down the trim with the brushes on at the back edge of the door. If it is a GT you will also see a ~15mm diameter hole just behind the brushes.

Yes mikey, the plug was by the base of the roll bar. On the passengers side of the car. This 15mm hole, is this where some part of the hardtop sits? I did see identical holes on both sides which had slight chipping off of the black paint as though something fixes into them. Man! Should have taken some pics...

Yeah two identical holes that the "spikes" on either side of the bottom of the hard top fit in and lock.
Have a look in the FAQ there are scans of the pages from the manual which show the socket and the pins!
