Hardtop demister switch - of use to people buying hardtops?
Guys,
I recently acquired a hardtop for my MY00, the first problem was the B pillars would foul the spikes on the hardtop, but as suggested on here they were removed prior to fitting.
Now i have a no sign of a demister switch.
Questions, if you would please.
1. Is there an existing loom to connect to a 'hardtop demister loom'? - I have seen some threads suggest there is one, under the console cover?
2. If the above is not correct what are my options apart from buying a loom?
3. I guess I could make a loom, surely it cant be that hard? Will it work off a 12v source from the fuse connector box under the dash (I have an existing chocloate box for my boost gauge and AFR guage) - I guess this could be a bad idea though for powering the demister?
Plan is to attach a rocker switch or such (which is lit) - any suggestions where to place that? - I'm to the RHS of where the fog light switch is (There is a small plastic blanking plate).
Sorry for the many questions.
Thanks in advance.

Hello Adam
Below are all the looms and the switch you need in order to make the hardtop heated rear window work in your MY00. You need numbers 3,4,5 and 8

I have number 3 loom if you decide to go that route

No problem Adam. Although i have a mugen hardtop now i really miss the OEM hardtop heated rear window. The other day i parked in a very tight spot and it took me quite a while to unpark the car as i could not see anything through the mugen window. It was full of humidity.

I used a USDM HRW switch with a latching relay from eBay. It sits in the hole where a UK washer switch resides in the dash. It is possible to use a UK washer switch with this relay too, and saves much faffing about with OEM looms etc
