I love the look of the hardtop, but I mostly decided to buy it because I could get the car in September with it or the folowing March without. Though I would probably have waited if it was an '02 with the glass rear screen.
It is certainly more snug and quieter with the hardtop on, but having just stored it for the summer I am loving the fact that the roof is down at every opportunity.
Storage is the other thing, do you have space for it, its a bit of a monster and has been a pain in my wifes bum on a number of occasions when it has been stored (temporarily) on the dining room floor!!
Personally I wouldn't get the either (if I had an '02) I would ensure I had upgraded my speakers (incl Lucids rears) and probably saved my pennies for a track day or tuition

However:
Make sure all you hard top buffs read this thread. This has got to be one of the most practical cost saving posts I've ever seen on this board.

Wooly:
I think at that price I'd have accepted too.
My biggest problem is the mountain bikes, and the ton of other stuff in the garage. I could find room if I got organized, but I somehow don't think it will happen. I've never had any gripe with the plastic window, and the roof has never let one drop of water in. Different story with Z3s from what I hear!
I really don't need one, and I'm quite hardy about dropping the top even when it's chilly. I was out the other morning at 1a.m. with the top down. I got some VERY strange looks!
