So im aware an original hard top can be worth around the £700 mark in the uk, but i see people selling them on facebook on US s2000 groups for $4000 USD - This is £2500 GBP

Yep, you are in the wrong country!

£500 without the fixing kit + £500 for the fixing kit, those are top prices, check fleabay.

What they are up for isn't always what they go for, do an advanced search on eBay for completed listings, that will show what they sell for.

search for hardtop fitting kit etc and you'll find what you need. If your car is a non gt version then you need a fitting kit. Unless you have a gt version of the car but never got a Ht with it. rockstar garage to a good alternative to the over priced OEM ones.

good luck

i own a HT myself, and im not aware of any fixing kit so i assume mine must be a GT.

My query was more about the resale value abroad.

A decent hardtop will sell for around €1500 on the continent and maybe €500 for the fitting kit.

I've seen hardtops go for $450 in the US (that's about £300...)

So not sure where you got $4000 from? Or was that a genuine Mugen or something?
