Default Hard Top Storage

Hi

Have done some searching on this but need to clarify a couple of things

Am I right in saying that from 06 onwards, stand/cover no longer standard with GT

Not sure if I should hunt down a second hand stand, make my own (v poor DIY skills ) or get a wall mounted bag

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Personally I would only ever use a stand sort of device, though quite a few have the autopak storage bag ??

Personally i would go definately for the stand. As for the bag, you don't have to buy any. You can cover it with any bit of plastic for protection.

Storage bag hung on the wall is by far the best solution.

I vote bag.
Padded, so it protects, waterproof so you can hang it on the wall in the garage or outdoors on a wall or shed.

AFAIK, the stand and cover are still supplied with GTs. However, many second hand cars have long since parted company with these add ons (tonneau covers are another item that go missing) and so aren't supplied with the car.

Stand is fine, but has quite a large footprint; no use if your garage is small. On the other hand the bag can be hung from the wall, saving space.

The hard top stand and cover are an extra cost option for GTs.

Allegedly Dick Turpin was consulted by Honda UK to determine their selling price...

Simple DIY solution - screw 4 eye-bolts into the roof timbers of the garage roof and suspend with a continuous length of rope, which loops front to back, each side, under the front and rear clips so it can't go anywhere. No need for pulleys and hoists, its light enough for two people to lift it up and tie-off the ropes.
