Used 2 of those (from Lidl/aldi) to store mine in the garage eaves. The long 'finger-prongs' can be nicely shaped to hold the roof while avoiding nipping the seal. Took a bit of time to raise it up though as I'd put the 2 pull ropes on different sides so had to raise a bit, then duck under and raise the other side. Would have used the missus to pull the other rope but the training would have taken longer than the job! Plus (other half)+(me)+(complex procedure involving car) =
Hoping the pulleys all still work when I come to lower it again....

Ya i bought two of them as well to use on mine, haven't done it yet as the S has no tax so still has the hardtop on. I was going to run one rope through some eye hooks so they'd be on the same side so you wouldn't need two people.... I was also going to run a rope between the arms to the top cant fall down so easily.

sensible move - I've got 2 bungee cords on mine doing the same thing - just keeping enough pressure to stop the hardtop slipping out if I accidentally catch it with something while moving stuff around in the garage. I wonder how many other uses these get used for other than as bike lifts? I'm sure there are some pictures on the web of 'alternative' uses - not sure I'd want them on my laptop!!
