That's useful to know. I did wonder if there was any kind of mechanism in place to prevent you trying to put the roof up, when the hard top was on.

DaveB did this when he bought my top, just removed the trim and hooked it onto the front clips and secured it with bungee cords.

You don't need the kit fitted to put the top on (although it would be easier).
Yep, I sure did and to put the journey into perspective, I drove from Kent to Derby motorway all the way with the hardtop on averaging 65-70mph but that was only due to the torrid rain.
To fit the hardtop, I had to remove the plastic side trims (took 10 mins max), hooked

I did this too - 300 odd miles of motorway driving IIRC - no problem

Here's a set of Honda instructions for the fitting of a hard top kit. Section 13 appears to refer to adjustments that can be made to the brackets to ensure correct alignment.

If there is any allignment it is on the brackets.

However the last hard top I sold the buyer had installed the fitting kit prior to collecting and the hard top fitted on perfectly.

Speaking of which, must be hard top weather soon.

i fitted the catches before I picked it up from simon, Fitted very well with no alignment needed to be done and no wind noise on the drive home
