Default hard top fitting question

on a non GT 2000 car is it possible top put the fitting kit on without having the top there or do you need to top to get it lined up right?

I want to buy a top but most I see on ebay are collection only so I want to put the fitting kit on and drive down, fit and drive it back

If there is any allignment it is on the brackets.

However the last hard top I sold the buyer had installed the fitting kit prior to collecting and the hard top fitted on perfectly.

Speaking of which, must be hard top weather soon.

That was me who posted that last week.
It's not a problem just securing the HT at the front, I just wouldn't recommend going over 60 mph...
There is no adjustment in the bracket itself, so the answer is, yes you can just fit the kit and put any HT on.
My HT didn't require any adjustment either. It fit like a glove.
That may just be luck though.

I too fancy a hardtop for my White Grand Prix, but I think it's costly to do with No GT kit to start with, does anyone have any input, ideas, costs, etc......

UK dealers charge an arm and a leg for the HT fitting kit bits, Kiwi. I know a number of people have imported them from HardTopGuy in the US at considerably less cost, even after shipping.

s2ki tradition seems to be that it's "OK" to put it back on once the clocks have gone back!

The alignment of the brackets is within the hardtop itself. No need to have the ht to fit the kit.
