Here we go again We have had a number of goes at this conversation and hence it's now in the FAQ / available through the search engine / etc, but here goes my own, personal, subjective opinion:
But for my money, Toyo Proxes T1-R in 16" - a good all rounder, with plenty of grip in the dry, a progressive breakaway (if you have the pressures correct) and good wet weather performance as long as you don't do anything silly... I've got about 6K out of this set so far, including approx 40 miles of track day, with approx 4-5mm remaining. Cost

The original SO2s never squeal.. i've read that the closer you are to a slick the less squeal you get
they are crap in the wet though..
the new bridgestones i have squeal a lot but so far have gripped ok (but not as good as SO2s) and are massively better in the wet. i've not tracked it on these tyres though

The S02s were grippy, but they tended to go "greasy" when hot and overheat quite easily. The 17" MZs seem much more consistent, much more controllable, and overall more fun, although maybe without quite so much outright grip.

You should try Angelsey. They started squealing by the second corner of the first lap, and then every corner thereafter.

I found it took a lot for the MZs to squeal, but my new GSD3s squeal at the slightest opportunity. It's kind of embarrassing when you put your foot down out of a junction and the inside wheel starts squealing when you're barely trying.
