Had a decent run with a Golf R32
The guy was a bit mental though, and made more than one questionable overtaking manouvrea, so most of the time I was hanging back till it was clear then catching him up again. Even when we made overtaking moves at the same time, I was gaining on him, so I knew once the road was clear I'd have no problem catching up.
As a car in front of me turned off from the single carriageway we were on, I tried to slow us down for a standing start, unfortunately he still had a bit of momentum, so I didn't start pulling away till after 100kph. By then it was clear I was faster though, and I started pulling a lot of ground. Shortly after that I realised I didn't know where I was and had to turn back the way I'd come.
Quite a quick car, the R32, but not quick enough that you couldn't catch them back if you had a poor /delayed start. In the rain it would have been a very different story though.

Remember though, German cars can get stupidly high gains from just a remap! A little laptop lovin can give that 1600kg an extra 20 to 30 to 40bhp! I spent a grand on my Cooper S and got it from 160bhp to nearly 220 within a few hours!

My brother in law has one of these. Driven it once and it is pretty quick, but also pretty dull. Typical VW/Audi driving feel very very blunt.
Like Bigfecker says would you really pay 23k for a golf
No chance. Even now when it's probably worth 15k or so I could find better cars for the cash. A quick car but boring and over priced.
That said it would tank the S in the wet. Oh and everytime I've played against it I've had a comfortable win maybe he can't drive for s**t though
