Default Grooved discs

Hi guys, are grooved discs and stock brake pads any good for road use, or just for track.

I presume it will help fading but eat the pads alot quicker?

Are grooved really better in the wet too?

cheers

I have grooved discs and have had them before on other cars.

I prefer them yself because you tend to minimise pad glazing which is often a cause of crappy brakes after you have had a bit of fun.

Grooves make no difference to brake cooling or braking performance.

All they do is shave a sliver of pad of on each rotation that prevents glazing but it does wear your pads out more quickly.

I've got grooves in my DBA discs, but only because i couldn't get plain ones in a reasonable timescale. The Ferodo pads seem to be hard enough to not get eaten by the grooves, but i'd hate to think what they'd do to OEM type pads.
