Stoptech disc vanes are also curved too like the SOS ones, A bit cheaper and have an amazing reputation.

I don't think the stoptech ones are double vented though Tom, which makes a big difference

These Tom?

Yes they look similar: but they're not handed ie, it's the same casting left or right regardless and the hubs are not vented.

I've seen that pic before Tom but when I got my slotted Stoptech discs, they were straight vaned, I was a bit disappointed!

Just fitted these

http://www.scienceof...g/brake_rotors/

They actually have some research and testing behind their design

Directional vanes
How much were they imported please?

(FWIW the Dixcels have curved vanes too).
LG i have disc similar to this which are basically a centric rotor(disc) without the grooves. The only difference between the centric and the SOS is the grooves. The centric ones i have are reverse mounted and directionally vaned. Cant say i have noticed alot of difference but they are getting eaten by my PF11 brake pads. I think i have done 3 days on these discs and theres a big lip on them. Next time round im just going to go with cheap blanks and get some good brake ducting to cool things down.

another vote for blanks here mark

the ebc ones are meant to be cack (also based on a friend having some that warped with just road use

ive even heard the stoptech 1 piece discs arnt meant to be great as well, lots of people moaning about them online, if your after them for just looks or whatever, im sure mtec's would be fine with the price/performance tradeoff.

So one ends up hotter and the other cooler, not quite what you want with brakes. Do I detect the scent of snake oil?

Ha ha no harm done Tom they do look very similar

I was looking at buying the Stoptechs then read all the blurb behind the design of the Speed Engineering ones, and thought I'd see if they were any good.

Will report back after Anglesey in Sept
