Grip in the Dry
I had the opportunity to drive the S quickly yesterday in dry conditions.
Having had S's for about 18 months, I realised that I've only ever driven quickly in the wet! I bought the first one in September and it got written off just before the summer, with the new one not arriving until October.
My driving style of the car seems to have evolved around driving it in the wet and I've been a pussy! This car has amazing levels of grip in the dry
Just thought I'd share that !!

I find that in the wet, all my driving is textbook racing stuff. Steer late as possible, always brake in a straight line, feed throttle in smoothly on exit etc.
But in the dry I tend to lose my halo and drive it like a bit of a nutter because I know it can take it. I'm particularly prone to braking and steering, which is normally a

In the wet, you need to be very disciplined and careful, but in the dry you can do what you want because it has so much excess grip. If only it had more power though, or a VTEC+ button you could press in the dry...

Yes, I found I was being a bit too careful with steering and braking etc. having "grown up" with the S in the wet. You can certainly push a lot further in the dry and turn in a lot tighter! You can also get away with the occasional lumpy gear change or late brake!

LOL the two are not related, trust me.
Sitting in close proximity to other cars driving too close scaring the pants off me (especially as a passenger) is nothing to do with a clear empty private road !!!!
(FWIW I did wonder about posting both, but thought about it and decided they weren't related. What I haven't added to this post is how I was nearly sobbing with pain by the time I got home last night after sitting int he car for a long period of time, or how stressful my journey on the motorway was. I just feel life goes on and I can't let this accident and the ongoing injuries rule my life forever!)

Having had the S for nearly 2 years, I've always been wary of pushing it hard, and have gradually built up speed and confidence in the corners. I know that the back will go easily in the wet, and a have a reasonable idea of when it will go now. In the dry, there is a lot more grip that I thought, and this was confirmed by the recent Bedford track day. Whilst I won't drive the S Like that on a public road, knowing the car is far more capable than I am brave/stupid is a good thing.
Of course, it's peed down all day today, so back to pussyfooting around
