Yeh Fair point, I mean its quite simple I want to go and to be fully-covered so I have no choice......

Just a little annoying really.

Are there generally many Speed Cameras in Le Francais?

very few , we saw 3 in 2700 miles recently whilst on the motorbikes .

They were signposted about 300metres before them , just out of respect we slowed for them , and then tore off again

We did see 4 speedtraps , but were warned well in advance of them by oncoming traffic , they seem to love bikes over there , I wondered if it would have been different if we had GB plates on the front though

Er, I just spent two weeks in the ring, I'm with Direct Line and didn't have a "green card" never even heard of one. Oh well, nothing happened, and technically I was covered.
I got issued with a green card from Direct Line when I went to the Ring.

Cost me

I phoned up my insurance company today (Egg) because we're going to France in September. Told that I'm automatically covered for third party, but if I want fully comp. I'll need a green card which costs

And Direct Line are one of the annoying few that specifically exclude the ring in their policies...
I couldn't find that written anywhere on my paperwork.

De-resricted toll roads or anything.

Out here in Gibraltar it works differently. You have to pay around 25% more of a premium to be able to get a green card. Difference is though, I had no 'no claims', was a new driver and (apart from bikes) and first car was/is an S and still only paying
