Default Grade of Engine Oil for UK Drivers

So I've just bought an S2000 and I need to do an oil change. The manual says to use 10w30 for temperatures of -20 degrees up to 40 degrees C which is our climate!

However I've called a couple of suppliers and they seem to recommend 10w40?

What are members in the UK using? And what brand?

Hey Nick,

There are probably over 100 threads on what oil to use.

5-40 Castrol Edge is what Honda recommend.

Unless you want to feck your TCT! Or have your car drink oil like a fish.

Until you know wiser stick to Castrol edge(TD)5W40, and don't ignore the wisdom of those who have owned an S2000 for many years and know a bit about cars.

Ive got petronas 5 40 from hendy performance. Think im going to chang to casterol edge 5 40 fst next change in a week or so. As its very highly regarded by oil gurus and owners.

Personally id like to know more info on the difference of the fst and td casterol edge..... but thats just curious me. :-)

Pop some synthetic 5 40 in and itll be good.... the worst oil is old oil...
