Driving back from a wedding we went to yesterday I'm driving along the A303 doing about 95kph as the road joins the M3.

As I look in my rear view mirror, one moment it's empty, the next there is a white Volvo sitting there at a fairly even distance behind me. And it's staying there.

So I pull into the near side lane, slow to 70kph and then up shoots the Volvo, with a policeman sitting in it waving his finger in a scornful manner as he sits alongside me.

I reckon I just missed a ticket on that one

and of course, you were driving like an idiot, tailgating and weaving in and out of traffic

why is there NEVER an unmarked car around when I see that kind of driving

nice escape

I reckon you saw him just in time

Had this happen to me in Cambridge once.

Relief is a wonderful emotion.

Never see one when chav ****ers undertake in the slow lane of motorways/dual carriageways.

Had that the other week, I was driving between 80-90 depending on the traffic. I'd slowed down to about 80 on the speedo for traffic, 77 on the Road Angel, look behind and see a ST220 behind me closing in. I got that nasty feeling and slowed down slightly but still overtaking the car beside me. Got over as quickly as possible and let him past. It was a cop car, though I think he was off for some doughnuts as well as he was in a rush

Snap

I was doing 90ish on a very clear M25 last night and only realised it was a copper behind me when we slowed for dartford crossing

Roads were very clear (100 in middle lane clear) and I was just cruising along. Dark outside, not the cleanest rear window from 250 miles driven that day. Hard for me to tell he was a cop until he got closer. Guess he joined off a slip or something. Reckon he was behind for a few miles though - good distance back though, 300m maybe but matching pace.

I wasnt driving like a fool (unless you call 90mph foolish), could have easily sat at 110 but I didnt.. He didnt appear to give a damn about me.

Luckily for me he was only on the prowl for different typed of drivers or finishing his shift. PHEW

The only worse feeling is when they then do pull you over
