Going to View, Need Some Help
I'm off to look at an '02 euro import tomorrow and have a few questions maybe someone could help with:
Where can I find the VIN?
Apart from the alarm and shorter warranty, is there anything else I need to know about euro imports? It came from Antwerp apparently.
I think the car has it's hard top fitted, is it worth asking them to remove it so I can check the condition of the soft-top, or would this be OTT?
It has a full red interior, which I quite like, anyone had any problems with keeping this looking good?
The cars up at 21k, what sort of price should I be looking to offer for it? Does that sound like a fair price for an '02 GT import with 11k miles (at a non-Honda dealer)?
Anything other advice?
Any help very welcome!
Cheers
PS I did a search but found no specific answers.

ask as many questions as you want! I would want to see the hood working etc
also look to see if he has bought locking wheel nuts and mats for it, other than that I cant see any other probs(I have a euro import and would buy another any day of the week)

The VIN will be on a plate which is (IIRC) at the front of the engine bay. It will be a long alphanumeric sequence beginning JHMAP, I think.
Other than the lack of alarm and 60K warranty, the only difference between UK and EU cars is the lack of breakdown cover.
Price sounds not unreasonable to me. I got

I think it is over priced.
I paid that for mine (also from Antwerp) when it was 6 months old and it came with hardtop and CD-changer.

Thanks guys.
Mark - it's a Berlina Black, I see too many Silverstones around my way (well, 2 of them )and too many silver cars in general so I don't fancy one of those, nice though they are! I saw an S2000 at the MotorXpo in Canary Wharf last year in this exact spec and made my mind up then that I wanted one just like it Test drove one last summer (Nurb Blue) but I didn't get chance to give it a proper run, it was 20 minutes of town driving and the guy kept telling me how good it is to cruise around with the top down
How do I go about getting an AA check? Do I just phone them and meet them at the garage?
Great idea, will ask them to do that if I put a deposit down.
Very interesting. I was thinking of offering

if you buy it get owner to sign abit of paper stating it has no crash damage/repair, dodgy mileage etc.
